Service Professor Cares: Feeding Our Community

For The Kids!

Service Professor Cares, our in-house non-profit, partners with local organizations. This includes community groups, youth initiatives, and individuals who are in need of a helping hand. These partnerships range from sponsoring days at local coffee shops that employ baristas with cognitive and developmental delays, families experiencing poverty, organizations assisting those experiencing homelessness, and more! 

Let’s talk numbers

Service Professor Cares is excited to be partnering with Kids Food Basket in March for Hunger Action Month as we fight against childhood hunger in our community. More than 50 million people in the United States experience food insecurity each year. 4 out of 10 families are relying on food banks to feed their families. This has continued to increase since the pandemic started in March of 2020. Even with government assistance programs, many families struggle to fill their cabinets and refrigerators. Suffering from hunger in childhood can create lifelong issues surrounding mental health and nutrition. 

Where do we come in? 

It’s not just the Service Professor Cares family in the office fighting for these causes. It’s also our community helping us! We have a variety of in-house initiatives and ways for our SP customers to help. Customer donations play a huge role in our ability to make large donations to our partners. So, each $1 or $5 donation from our customers ends up making a huge impact. 

Making (money) moves! 

When it comes to raising money in the office Service Professor Cares always has new and creative ideas. This ranges from renting parking spaces, corn hold tournaments, paying to wear casual clothes, and more. Adding things that make our staff love working here even more and it directly benefits our community. That’s our jam! Each fundraiser brings no and exciting things into our office for our staff to take advantage of.
