The Role

The Training Manager is responsible for the planning, directing and coordination of training and development activities for all technicians and customer service representatives ensuring the satisfaction and loyalty of Service Professor customers. Creating this consistency amongst our departments and with each technician within those departments will be a contributor to our successes.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze training needs to develop new training programs, execute current training programs or modify and improve existing programs.
  • Plan, develop, and provide training and staff development programs, using knowledge of the effectiveness of methods such as classroom training, demonstrations, on the job training, meetings, conferences and workshops.
  • Responsible for holding trainees accountable.
  • Prepare and maintain operational/training budget.
  • Confer with management and conduct surveys to identify training needs based on projected production processes, changes, and other factors.
  • Develop and organize training manuals, multimedia visual aids, and other educational materials.
  • Develop testing and evaluation procedures.
  • Train managers in techniques and skills for training and dealing with employees.
  • Determine operational compliance with regulations or standards.
  • Conduct orientation sessions and arrange on the job training for new hires. Working with field supervisors to accomplish this during the on-boarding process.
  • Conduct or arrange for ongoing technical training and personal development classes.
  • Review and evaluate training and apprenticeship programs for compliance with government standards.
  • Coordinate established courses with technical and professional courses provided by community schools and designate training procedures.
  • Participate in side by side training “ride-a-longs” with technicians and call center staff on a regular basis.
  • Coordinate special events or programs.
  • Proven ability of making sound judgments and decisions.
  • Clear and concise communication skills.
  • Other duties as needed or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Education

  • Minimum of 5 years’ training experience preferred.
  • Trades experience (plumbing, HVAC, electrical) preferred but not required.
  • Highly experienced user of Microsoft Office Suite, Internet Navigation, Databases and Survey Software.
  • Superior writing and oral communication skills.
  • Required experience in system analysis and evaluation.
  • Highly organized with exceptional follow-through abilities.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and project management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment as a part of the team.
  • Commitment to Service Professors’ mission and vision.
  • Highly motivational, persuasive and flexible with a great attitude.
  • Ability to follow-through with minimal supervision.

Preferred Education and Experience

Certified Trainer preferred; Certified Professional in Training Management (CPTM), Certified Training and Development Professional (CTDP), Certified Training Practitioner (CTP), or other relevant certifications/degrees.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop; kneel, crouch. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.   • Assess systems to determine repair recommendations to clients
  • Explain to the customer each service and repair option prior to beginning work
  • Ensure that the client is 100% satisfied with all work upon completion
  • Offer customer 5 Star Service along with hints & tips to maintain system performance
  • Be part of the after-hours duty rotation

  • 2 or more years of service experience
  • Must display strong communication skills and technical competence
  • Must be fluent in English (reading/writing)
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
  • Must obtain chauffeur license and pass DOT physical
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces and be able to bend, lift, carry, stoop, crawl, sit, stand, drive, reach above, walk, push, pull, fine manipulation, and use hands frequently
  • Must be able to pass both drug testing and background check

  • Must be fluent in English (reading/writing).

  • Must be able to work in confined spaces and be able to bend, lift, carry, stoop, crawl, sit, stand, drive, reach above, walk, push, pull, fine manipulation, and use hands frequently.
